Jacksonville, FL (August 1, 2026) – One person was hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash involving two Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicles at Cassat Avenue and Edgewood Avenue South early on Thursday morning, July 30, shortly before 1 a.m.
A Volkswagen Jetta traveling north on Cassat Avenue attempted to turn left onto Edgewood Avenue South when it collided with a southbound Ford Explorer patrol vehicle. The impact pushed the patrol SUV across Edgewood Avenue South, where it struck a second JSO patrol vehicle. The Jetta driver was taken to a hospital with a possible ankle injury.
The officer driving the first patrol vehicle suffered non-incapacitating injuries and was not transported, while the second officer reported no injuries.
