Crisp County, GA (June 19, 2026) – One person suffered minor injuries following a three-vehicle crash involving two semi-trucks and a passenger car on I-75 North near mile marker 94 in Crisp County.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the collision occurred when a driver reportedly followed another vehicle too closely and swerved to avoid a crash. Investigators said the maneuver resulted in a collision with a second vehicle, forcing it into a guardrail.

Authorities reported that the affected vehicle then spun clockwise and partially slid underneath a towed trailer. Emergency personnel from Crisp County Public Safety and the Georgia Department of Public Safety responded to the scene to assist those involved and manage traffic.

The driver of the struck vehicle sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. No additional injuries were immediately reported.

The collision caused approximately one hour of delays in the right northbound lane of I-75 while crews worked to clear the roadway and investigate the incident. Officials noted that rainy weather had moved into the area, leaving roadways wet at the time of the crash.

The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. We hope the injured driver makes a full recovery.

Why Following Distance Is Important During Wet Weather?

Traffic crashes during rainy conditions occur because wet pavement reduces tire traction and increases stopping distances. When vehicles follow too closely, drivers may have insufficient time and space to react to changing traffic conditions ahead.

Investigators reviewing wet-weather collisions commonly examine roadway conditions, vehicle speeds, braking evidence, and driver actions leading up to the crash. These factors help determine how the incident occurred and whether environmental conditions contributed to the collision.

Safety officials routinely encourage motorists to increase following distances, reduce speeds, and avoid sudden steering or braking inputs during rain events. These precautions can help drivers maintain better control of their vehicles and reduce the likelihood of crashes on wet roadways.
