Topeka, KS (January 12, 2026) – A pedestrian was injured following a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision near S Kansas Ave, just north of a McDonald’s location, according to local dispatch reports.
The incident occurred shortly after 12:00 p.m., prompting a response from Topeka Police, Fire Department units, and American Medical Response (AMR). Responding officers arrived at the scene near 25th St and S Kansas Ave, where they made contact with the injured pedestrian.
The victim, who told officers they had been struck by a blue truck, complained of neck and back pain as medical personnel assessed their condition. Fire and EMS crews provided care on-site and prepared for potential hospital transport.
Officials did not immediately locate the striking vehicle, and it remains unclear whether the driver remained at the scene or fled the area. Authorities have not confirmed any arrests or citations as of this morning.
