Tuxedo, NY (January 26, 2026) – Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a serious two-vehicle accident involving entrapment early on Sunday morning in the town of Tuxedo, prompting a coordinated response from local and county units.
The collision took place around 7:00 a.m. on January 25 along Route 17, near the address of 538 Rt 17. Initial reports indicate that two vehicles collided under circumstances still being investigated, with at least one occupant trapped inside a vehicle. Responders from the Tuxedo Fire Department and Orange County Fire Control were immediately activated following reports of the entrapment.
Firefighters worked quickly to stabilize the vehicles and extricate the trapped individual using specialized equipment. Paramedics on site provided medical care to those involved, with a variety of injuries reported. At least one person was transported from the scene by ambulance for further treatment at a nearby hospital. The condition of the victims has not been disclosed.
Route 17 experienced temporary lane closures as officials worked to clear the scene and conduct an initial investigation. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage, and towing services were required to remove them from the roadway.
