Rollover Crashes in Downtown Areas
Rollover crashes can happen even on city streets, especially when a vehicle hits another object or changes direction suddenly. The shape, speed, and angle of impact can all affect whether a vehicle tips onto its side or roof.
Downtown streets often include intersections, parked cars, pedestrians, and turning vehicles. These conditions can make a crash scene more complex, even at lower posted speeds. Emergency units may need to block lanes while checking injuries and moving damaged vehicles.
When people are taken from a crash scene on stretchers, medical workers may be taking extra care with possible head, neck, or back injuries. The full extent of harm is often not clear until doctors evaluate the people involved.
