Butler Township, PA (July 28, 2026) – Two people lost their lives, and two others were hospitalized following a head-on crash on Sunday in Butler Township.
The collision occurred in the 100 block of Pittsburgh Rd, where two vehicles struck each other head-on. According to officials, the driver of the southbound vehicle died at the scene. A passenger in the northbound vehicle was taken to Butler Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The deceased driver was identified as 27-year-old Jennifer Johns of Kittanning. The passenger who died was identified as 35-year-old Brandi Novosel of Butler.
Two additional occupants were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals for treatment. A juvenile was airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, while an adult man was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Their current medical conditions have not been released. The police continue to investigate what caused the collision.
