Colerain Township, OH (July 3, 2026) – Two people were injured on Wednesday evening after a police pursuit ended in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Livingston Rd and Blue Rock Rd in Colerain Township.

According to township officials, officers were notified around 7:45 p.m. that a driver who had fled from Mt. Healthy police was traveling toward Colerain Township. An officer later located the vehicle parked at a convenience store on Blue Rock Rd, where the driver, identified as 29-year-old Hayden Getz, allegedly backed into a police cruiser three times before striking other parked vehicles and driving away.

The pursuit ended when Getz allegedly ran a stop sign at Livingston Rd and Blue Rock Rd, colliding with another vehicle. Both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest disabled.

Getz sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital before being taken into custody. The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to a hospital and later released. Getz is expected to face charges including felonious assault, failure to comply, driving under suspension, and operating a vehicle under the influence, with additional charges possible. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation as the case moves forward.

We are thinking of those injured and wish them a full recovery.

Why Police Pursuit Crashes Require Detailed Reconstruction

Crashes that occur during police pursuits are usually examined by reviewing the sequence of vehicle movements before and during the pursuit. Investigators may analyse traffic control devices, vehicle speeds, roadway conditions, and witness statements to establish how the collision developed.

Damage to the vehicles, surveillance footage, and physical evidence on the roadway can also help reconstruct the timeline. When multiple impacts occur before the final collision, each point of contact is typically documented separately. These findings help provide a complete picture of the events leading up to the crash and the resulting injuries.
