Rolla, MO (August 29, 2026) – Two women were hurt Thursday afternoon when a Kia Optima struck a Toyota Highlander stopped in traffic on Highway 63. The accident happened around 12:36 p.m. Thursday, August 27, in Phelps County.
The 18-year-old Mountain View woman driving the Kia and the 37-year-old Rolla woman behind the wheel of the Toyota were both listed with minor injuries. Both were taken by Phelps EMS to Phelps Health Hospital for treatment.
The Kia sustained total damage and was removed by a towing company. The Toyota sustained moderate damage and was driven from the site.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under review. We hope both women make a full recovery.
