Stonecrest, GA (July 25, 2026) – Two people were hurt in a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Covington Hwy. and Panola Rd. in Stonecrest on Thursday afternoon.
The police said the crash occurred shortly after 1:20 p.m. after the driver of a vehicle fled from a traffic stop conducted about a mile away. Investigators said the officer had discovered a felony drug warrant linked to the vehicle’s license plate before the driver sped away. Police stated the officer did not pursue the vehicle and later learned it had been involved in a chain-reaction wreck at the intersection.
Two adults received treatment for minor injuries, and no serious injuries were reported. Video from the roadway showed multiple damaged vehicles, including a white car that appeared to have struck another vehicle head-on. Police also reported finding drugs and cash inside the suspect’s vehicle. The investigation into the collision remains active as additional details are gathered.
