Jo Daviess County, IL (July 23, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision on Route 20 near rural Galena on Wednesday afternoon left two drivers injured.
The vehicles were traveling east on Route 20 when they approached a traffic signal that had turned yellow in a construction zone. The first driver began slowing down, but the second vehicle struck the back of the first vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The second driver received a citation for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
