Phelps County, MO (August 20, 2026) – Two drivers were injured on Tuesday, August 18, after two vehicles collided head-on on Hwy V just north of County Road 2080 in Phelps County.
The vehicles were a 2018 International truck traveling northbound and a 2020 Kia Rio traveling southbound. The report states that the International crossed the centerline and struck the Kia head-on.
The 29-year-old male driver of the truck suffered minor injuries. The 42-year-old female driver of the Kia sustained moderate injuries. Both drivers were wearing safety devices and were taken to Phelps Health for treatment.
The Kia was totaled, while the International sustained extensive damage. Towing companies removed both vehicles from the roadway. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under review as additional details are gathered.
