Springfield, TN (July 5, 2026) – Two people were injured, including one person who suffered serious injuries, after a crash around 11:15 a.m. on Friday, July 3, on Highway 49 at Owens Road in Springfield.
Initial reports indicated that at least one person was trapped inside a vehicle following the crash. Cross Plains Fire Department crews arrived and worked to extricate the individual while other responders provided medical assistance at the scene. Two individuals were transported for treatment, with one reported to have serious injuries.
The highway was temporarily closed during the response and investigation before reopening around 12:30 p.m.
