Coal Valley, IL (July 24, 2026) – Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Thursday evening on U.S. Route 150 in Coal Valley, resulting in a temporary roadway closure while crews cleared the roadway.
The collision occurred at approximately 5:58 p.m. in the 10000 block of Route 150. According to the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office, multiple occupants were involved, and two people were taken by ambulance to receive treatment for their injuries.
Earlier reports from the scene indicated that one person had to be extricated from a car before being taken to a hospital for medical care. A pickup truck involved in the collision sustained severe damage, with its rear axle torn away, and traffic was backed up as the highway remained blocked for a period while damaged vehicles were removed.
