Congress, AZ (July 8, 2026) – Two people lost their lives in a truck wreck early on Monday along US 93 about 30 miles north of Wickenburg in southwestern Yavapai County.
The fatal crash happened shortly after 7 a.m. when a car hauler and another truck collided. Both drivers died as a result of the crash. Images from the aftermath showed both trucks with extensive damage, and both vehicles appeared to have caught fire following the collision.
The northbound lanes of US 93 were closed at State Route 71, while southbound traffic was stopped at Interstate 40 as crews worked to clear the roadway. The highway was fully reopened by approximately 4:45 p.m.
The cause of the wreck remains under review as investigators continue examining the circumstances. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and friends of those who lost their lives.
