Why Motorcycle and E-Bike Collisions Can Be Especially Severe
Crashes involving motorcycles and e-bikes usually result in serious or fatal injuries due to the limited protection available to riders. Even with helmets and safety gear, riders are more exposed to direct impact forces compared to occupants of enclosed vehicles.
Multi-vehicle crashes can further increase risk when multiple impacts occur in quick succession or when riders are thrown from their vehicles. Investigators typically review roadway conditions, visibility, traffic flow, and vehicle positions to understand how these complex crashes develop. High-traffic intersections and urban corridors can present additional risks due to frequent turning movements and mixed vehicle types.
