Osceola County, FL (June 25, 2026) – Two people lost their lives following a single-vehicle rollover crash Tuesday afternoon on the Florida Turnpike near St. Cloud.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:10 p.m. on June 24 in the southbound lanes near mile marker 240.
Investigators said a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser carrying two occupants was traveling southbound when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway and struck the inside concrete barrier. Authorities reported that the driver then overcorrected, causing the SUV to travel across the highway, overturn, and collide with a concrete barrier on the opposite side of the roadway.
The driver, a 56-year-old man from Kissimmee, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. A 65-year-old female passenger from Kissimmee was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The southbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike remained closed for several hours as troopers investigated the crash and crews cleared the scene. The roadway reopened at approximately 6 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
