St. Marys, OH (July 28, 2026) – Two drivers were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision early on Monday, July 27. The vehicles came together around 5:03 a.m. at State Route 219 and Plattner Pike in Saint Marys Township.
A 2005 Hyundai Sonata driven by 18-year-old Noah J. Carte was traveling north on Plattner Pike. A 2010 Honda CR-V operated by 49-year-old Jamie A. O’Neal was heading east on State Route 219 when the vehicles struck each other at the intersection.
Both vehicles then left the roadway. The Honda stopped in an agricultural field north of State Route 219, while the Hyundai came to rest in a ditch on the south side.
Carte and O’Neal were wearing seat belts and were taken to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Emergency units assisted at the accident, and towing crews removed the vehicles.
The wreck remains under review. We hope both drivers make a full recovery.
