Council Bluffs, IA (July 5, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash with reported injuries occurred along Interstate 80 eastbound near mile marker 5.6 between Exit 5 at Madison Avenue and US 6 in Council Bluffs. Emergency units responded to the right shoulder of the highway after reports of a collision blocking part of the roadway on Saturday, July 4.
The Iowa DOT information stated that the crash involved two vehicles and that one person was reported injured at the scene. Council Bluffs Police and Council Bluffs Fire & Rescue responded to assist with traffic control and patient evaluation.
The right shoulder of Interstate 80 EB was blocked as emergency crews assessed those involved and cleared the roadway. Our thoughts are with the injured person as they receive care.
