How Dangerous Are Rear-End Collisions Involving Semi-Trucks?
Rear-end crashes involving large commercial vehicles can be especially dangerous due to their size and weight.
When a semi-truck strikes another vehicle, the impact force can cause severe damage and increase the risk of fire, particularly if the fuel system is compromised. Stopping distances for large trucks are also much longer, making sudden slowdowns hazardous.
Drivers are encouraged to maintain safe following distances and remain alert, especially on high-speed roadways like interstates, where traffic conditions can change quickly.
