Multi-Vehicle Crashes Can Begin With a Single Loss of Control
Multi-vehicle crashes can start when one vehicle crosses into opposing traffic. This type of movement can quickly involve several cars, especially on busy roadways.
When multiple vehicles are involved, the impact can spread across lanes and increase the number of people affected. Drivers traveling in the opposite direction may have little time to react.
Traffic flow, speed, and roadway design can all influence how these crashes develop. Once several vehicles are involved, the scene can become more complex, increasing the likelihood of injuries.
