Vineyard, CA (January 10, 2026) – Two people were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon at the intersection of Elk Grove Florin Rd and Vintage Park Dr in the Vineyard area of South Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the collision happened at approximately 3:04 p.m. on January 9. A white Nissan van and a black Dodge Ram pickup were involved. Initial reports suggested the pickup may have struck a tree, but it was later confirmed that the Dodge Ram collided with the Nissan van.
Airbags deployed during the crash, and one of the vehicles came to rest in the number one lane while the other was pushed onto the sidewalk. At least one of the vehicles sustained significant front-end damage.
Emergency responders from Metro Fire and the Sacramento Fire Department arrived at the scene and provided medical aid to the injured parties. Medics and fire crews worked to assist two individuals suffering from injuries, who were then transported to Kaiser South Sacramento for further treatment. The nature and extent of their injuries have not been publicly disclosed.
Officers secured the scene for investigation and requested tow trucks to remove both vehicles involved. Traffic in the area was disrupted as southbound lanes of Elk Grove Florin Rd were partially blocked during the emergency response and debris cleanup.
At this time, no fatalities or arrests have been reported. The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, including any contributing factors such as speed, right-of-way violations, or impairment.
Our thoughts are with the individuals who were injured, and we hope for their swift recovery.
