Why Multi-Vehicle Night Crashes Can Be More Serious
Crashes involving multiple vehicles at night can become more severe due to reduced visibility and slower reaction times. Drivers may have difficulty seeing stopped or slowing traffic ahead, especially on busy arterial roads like Holland Road.
When one collision occurs, it can quickly involve additional vehicles if traffic is close together or moving at higher speeds. Investigators typically review lighting conditions, driver speed, and vehicle spacing to understand how the chain of events unfolded. Even when injuries vary in severity, multi-vehicle crashes often require multiple emergency responses due to the number of people involved.
