What Happens When Vehicles Leave the Road on Highways?
Main travel routes near Interstate 70 can become dangerous when a vehicle unexpectedly leaves its lane. Once a vehicle leaves the roadway, drivers may attempt sudden corrections, which can lead to loss of control.
Overcorrection can cause a vehicle to cross multiple lanes or enter a median, increasing the chance of striking fixed objects such as barriers or embankments. These impacts can result in serious injuries, especially when the vehicle changes direction quickly.
Road conditions, speed, and driver response all influence how these situations develop. Staying within lane boundaries and making controlled movements can help reduce the risk of severe crashes on highways.
