Walkersville, MD (January 21, 2026) – A tragic collision on Monday evening on northbound MD-194 (Woodsboro Pike) resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man from Pennsylvania and left another driver seriously injured, according to Maryland State Police.
The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on January 19, just south of Crum Rd in Walkersville. Investigators say Daniel Price, of Biglerville, PA, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a Toyota pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction.
Emergency responders arrived to find both vehicles with extensive front-end damage. Price was pronounced dead at the scene. The 58-year-old driver of the Toyota sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by Maryland State Police to a nearby trauma center for treatment.
Officials confirmed that neither vehicle had additional occupants at the time of the crash. The Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services assisted at the scene, where traffic on MD-194 was shut down for nearly two hours during the investigation and cleanup.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, including whether any external factors may have contributed. No charges have been filed, and further updates are expected as the inquiry progresses.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Daniel Price, and we wish the injured driver a full and speedy recovery.
