Walton, KY (January 28, 2026) – Two elderly residents were hospitalized following a house fire that broke out on Percival Rd in Walton on January 27. The blaze caused significant damage to the home and led to part of the structure collapsing.
Firefighters from the Walton Fire District responded to the scene shortly after 1 p.m. and encountered heavy smoke and flames. Crews worked to suppress the fire and assist the individuals inside the home. Both residents were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
Officials believe a heating lamp may have played a role in starting the fire, though the exact cause remains under investigation. The fire resulted in major damage to the rear portion of the house, which partially collapsed during the incident.
Emergency personnel remained on scene for an extended period to ensure all hazards were contained and to begin assessing the damage.
