Warren, MO (January 25, 2026) – A devastating single-vehicle accident early on Saturday morning in Warren County claimed the life of one man and left another with serious injuries after the vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:07 a.m. on January 24 along the North Service Rd, just east of Park Dr. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2026 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway and collided with a tree. The impact resulted in total damage to the vehicle, which was later towed by Prime Towing.
Authorities confirmed that the driver, a 62-year-old man from Warrenton, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He sustained fatal injuries and was transported by Warren County Area Ambulance to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital West, where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff at 2:05 a.m.
An additional occupant, a 42-year-old man from Wright City, was seriously injured in the crash. He was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.
Emergency personnel from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist at the scene alongside the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Major Crash Investigation Team. The area remained active for several hours during the investigation and cleanup efforts.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading to the collision, including whether driver fatigue or roadway conditions may have played a role.
