Why can skiing accidents result in severe or fatal injuries?
Skiing accidents can become serious due to high speeds, changing terrain, and environmental hazards such as trees or uneven snow conditions.
When a skier loses control, especially on steep or advanced trails, they may be unable to stop before leaving the designated path. Collisions with trees or other obstacles can significantly increase the severity of injuries.
Even experienced skiers can encounter unexpected conditions, making it important to remain aware of one’s surroundings and ski within one’s ability level at all times.
