How Roadway Conditions Can Affect Heavy Truck Crashes
Large trucks require more distance to slow down, especially when traveling downhill or carrying heavy loads. When a vehicle gains speed on a slope, stopping quickly becomes more difficult, increasing the risk of a crash.
Obstacles or unexpected hazards on the roadway can also contribute to loss of control. Even minor disruptions may lead to serious impacts when heavy trucks are involved due to their size and weight.
Areas near industrial sites or loading zones may present additional challenges. Changes in elevation, tight access points, and nearby equipment can all affect how safely large vehicles can move through these locations.
