Pedestrian Hazards on High-Speed Highways in Pennsylvania
Pedestrians on high-speed roadways such as interstates face extreme danger due to the speed and volume of traffic. Drivers typically have little time to react when an individual is in a travel lane, particularly at night or in low-visibility conditions.
Collisions involving pedestrians on highways often result in severe or fatal injuries due to the force of impact. In some cases, additional vehicles may unknowingly strike a person already in the roadway, complicating investigations.
Authorities reviewing these incidents typically examine roadway conditions, lighting, traffic patterns, and witness accounts to determine how the person entered the highway and what events may have contributed to the tragedy.
