Two-Car Overnight Crashes Often Result in Serious Injuries
Crashes occurring during overnight hours can become especially severe because visibility is reduced and drivers may have less time to react to sudden hazards. Even on local roads, a strong impact between two passenger vehicles can leave multiple occupants injured at once.
When several people are inside both vehicles, emergency crews may need to evaluate and transport numerous patients from the same scene. Injury severity can vary greatly depending on seating position, vehicle speed, and the angle of impact.
Investigators commonly review roadway evidence, vehicle damage, and witness statements after serious two-car crashes. Reconstruction teams may also examine braking patterns and final vehicle positions to help determine how the collision occurred.
