Crashes near gas stations and store entrances often involve turning movements and changing traffic patterns. Investigators typically review how vehicles entered or exited the roadway and whether sightlines were clear at the time.
Speed, vehicle positioning, and traffic flow on main roads are also reviewed. Busy streets can increase the risk of collisions when drivers attempt to merge or turn across lanes.
