How Turning Movements Can Lead to Serious Crashes
Crashes involving turning vehicles often occur when timing and visibility are limited. Vehicles waiting to turn may be struck by oncoming traffic if gaps in traffic are misjudged or if approaching drivers are unable to stop in time.
The force of impact in these situations can be significant, especially on highways where speeds are higher. Passengers in affected vehicles may face an increased risk depending on their seating position and the collision angle.
Investigators typically review driver actions, vehicle positions, and roadway conditions to determine how the crash occurred.
