What Makes Left-Turn Motorcycle Crashes So Dangerous?
Left-turn motorcycle crashes often cause severe injuries because the rider has little protection during impact. These crashes may happen when a larger vehicle turns across the path of an oncoming motorcycle. The smaller size of a motorcycle can also make it harder to see in traffic.
Intersections can add risk because drivers must judge distance, speed, and gaps in traffic at the same time. A short delay in seeing an oncoming rider can lead to a serious collision.
After a motorcycle crash, medical records, vehicle damage, and roadway marks may help show how the impact occurred. These details can also help explain the severity of the injuries.
