Investigation Into Fatal Bicycle Crash
Washington State Patrol Sgt. Greg Riddell said investigators do not believe impairment was a factor for either the driver or the bicyclist. Authorities noted that the driver has cooperated fully with investigators, and no charges have been filed at this time.
Fatal bicycle crashes on rural highways often raise concerns about nighttime visibility and roadway safety for cyclists. Officials continue to remind bicyclists to use reflective gear and lights when traveling after dark, while motorists are urged to remain attentive and watch for vulnerable road users along highways and rural roads.
The collision remains under investigation by the Washington State Patrol, and additional details may be released as the inquiry continues.
