Multi-Vehicle Crashes Can Result in Serious Injuries
Collisions involving multiple vehicles create complex crash scenes and increase the likelihood of injuries due to multiple points of impact. Emergency responders must assess all occupants involved while working to secure the area and restore traffic flow.
Investigators reviewing multi-vehicle crashes typically examine driver actions, traffic signals, roadway conditions, witness statements, and physical evidence from the scene to determine how the collision occurred. Factors such as speed, following distance, and right-of-way may also be evaluated.
Serious injury crashes frequently require extensive investigation as authorities work to establish the sequence of events and identify any contributing factors.
