Franklin County, MO (August 15, 2026) – A 40-year-old woman was moderately injured on Thursday afternoon after a Chevrolet 2500 HD struck a BMW X3 on westbound I-44. The crash happened near mile marker 258.4 around 3:50 p.m.
Both vehicles had slowed to avoid traffic congestion ahead and moved to the left. The Chevrolet then struck the rear of the BMW.
The BMW driver was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington for treatment. The BMW sustained moderate damage and was towed, while the Chevrolet also had moderate damage and was driven from the crash site. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
