What Can Happen When a Vehicle Strikes Another Car From the Side?
Side-impact crashes can cause significant injuries because there is less space between the occupants and the point of impact. The severity can depend on the vehicles’ speeds, the location of the impact, and the safety features of the vehicles involved.
Concrete barriers and other fixed objects can also increase the damage after an initial collision. Staying alert, maintaining a safe following distance, and checking surrounding traffic can help drivers respond to changing conditions on busy highways.
