Fremont, OH (August 19, 2026) – A woman was killed, and four others were injured on Monday afternoon after two vehicles collided in Ballville Township.
The collision occurred at the intersection of US-6 and SR-53. A 23-year-old man from Seville was driving a Saturn northbound on SR-53 when he reportedly failed to yield while turning left.
A southbound GMC driven by a 59-year-old woman from Troy then struck the Saturn. Nacole Bartolet, 20, of Whitehouse, was a passenger in the Saturn and died from her injuries at the site.
The Saturn driver and another passenger, a 22-year-old woman from Wooster, suffered serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital. The GMC driver and a 64-year-old passenger from Troy also went to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the accident remains underway as investigators review the circumstances. Our deepest condolences go to Bartolet’s family and loved ones.
