Big Spring, TX (August 14, 2026) – A 22-year-old woman died on Thursday morning after an SUV struck her while she was walking along W. FM 700 in Big Spring.
Police said officers were called to the area, also known as Marcy, around 6:40 a.m. after a vehicle struck a pedestrian. Investigators found a black 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander at the site with the woman nearby.
According to investigators, the Mitsubishi was traveling west in the outside lane when Aamiyah Jackson entered the lane while walking eastbound. The SUV struck Jackson, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mitsubishi reported no injuries. The circumstances surrounding the pedestrian collision remain under investigation.
