Woodcrest, CA (January 9, 2026) – A motorcyclist lost his life Wednesday evening following a crash at a major intersection in Woodcrest, the California Highway Patrol confirmed.
The fatal collision occurred shortly after 5:00 p.m. at the junction of Gardner Ave and Van Buren Blvd. According to CHP officials, the motorcyclist was riding through the intersection at an unconfirmed speed when the motorcycle collided with another vehicle under circumstances still under investigation.
The force of the impact ejected the rider onto the roadway. Good Samaritans nearby rushed to help and began rendering aid before Riverside County sheriff’s deputies and fire department paramedics arrived to take over. Despite their life-saving efforts, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene approximately 15 minutes later.
The motorcyclist’s identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. No other injuries were reported, and the driver of the other vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
Officers with CHP’s Riverside-area division are leading the investigation as they work to determine the factors that led to the deadly crash.
