Muscatine County, IA (July 29, 2026) – Three people were injured after a wrong-way crash on US Highway 61 on Monday evening, July 27. The collision happened at approximately 6:41 p.m. after a vehicle traveling in the southbound lanes attempted a U-turn.
According to a crash report, the vehicle was heading north in the southbound lanes of US Highway 61 when the driver attempted to turn around. The vehicle was then struck on the front passenger side by another vehicle traveling south. Both drivers were taken to hospitals by ambulance, while the front-seat passenger in the vehicle making the U-turn was flown to a hospital by air ambulance.
