What Happens After a Highway Crash Involving Injuries?
When a crash occurs on a highway, responders focus on checking those involved and clearing the roadway safely. Even when vehicles are moved to the shoulder, traffic flow can still be affected due to nearby activity.
Injury crashes often require medical evaluation at the scene or at a hospital. Some injuries may not be immediately visible, which is why further checks are sometimes needed after the initial response.
Vehicle removal is another key step, especially if a car cannot be driven away. Clearing damaged vehicles helps restore normal traffic conditions and reduces the risk of additional incidents in the same area.
