What Is Reviewed After a Multi-Vehicle Collision?
When a collision involves three or more vehicles, investigators typically examine how each vehicle moved before, during, and after the chain of impacts. Damage patterns, tire marks, roadway conditions, and the final positions of the vehicles can help establish the sequence in which the vehicles came together. Video from nearby businesses or traffic cameras may also provide valuable information.
Medical findings and vehicle inspections are reviewed alongside witness statements to develop a clearer understanding of the collision. Factors such as traffic flow, visibility, and the condition of each vehicle may also be considered. As additional evidence is gathered and analyzed, investigators can better determine the circumstances that contributed to the multi-vehicle collision.
