Sacramento, CA (August 6, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash slowed eastbound traffic along US-50 just west of Jefferson Boulevard on August 6 after four vehicles became involved in a chain-reaction collision.
According to dispatch information, the crash was reported at about 3:43 p.m. Initial reports indicated that a gray 2008 Kia Sorento, a silver Hyundai Sonata, a brown sedan, and a white work truck were involved. The damaged vehicles blocked the No. 3 lane before they were moved to the right shoulder.
Emergency units worked to clear the blocked lanes while arranging for a tow truck to remove one heavily damaged gold Toyota sedan. Dispatch logs also noted that one of the vehicles began catching fire, prompting additional assistance. By about 4:02 p.m., crews were attempting to reopen traffic lanes as all vehicles had been moved to the right shoulder. At least two people were reported hurt, although no information about their identities or the extent of their injuries was immediately released. The cause of the collision remains under review as additional details are gathered.
