Redding, CA (August 4, 2026) – Two people were reportedly hurt in a traffic collision on southbound I-5 just south of State Route 44 in Redding on August 2.
According to dispatch information from the California Highway Patrol, the call came in shortly after 2:00 p.m. Initial reports indicated that a green Toyota Camry had overturned onto the right shoulder and that multiple vehicles might have been involved. As emergency units arrived, they confirmed that two vehicles were involved and that two people had been injured.
The crash temporarily blocked all southbound lanes before one lane was reopened. The Toyota Camry was reported to have sustained major rear-end damage, and a tow truck was requested to remove it from the roadway.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation as more information becomes available.
