Philadelphia, PA (January 18, 2026) – A woman was injured in a motorized scooter accident Friday afternoon at Rittenhouse Square. The incident occurred on January 17 and prompted a trauma transport to Presbyterian Hospital.
Emergency crews responded to reports that the woman had fallen from a motorized scooter and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. Although she did not suffer a head strike, loss of consciousness, or any complications related to medication use, she sustained a visibly deformed ankle and complained of significant right ankle pain.
Medics on scene confirmed that the woman’s vital signs were stable. She was transported to Presbyterian Hospital with an estimated arrival time of five minutes for further treatment and orthopedic evaluation.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the fall or whether any other parties were involved.
We extend our well wishes to the injured woman and hope for a smooth and full recovery.
