Saint Michael, MN (January 18, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a severe single-vehicle rollover crash early on Saturday morning on westbound Interstate 94 near milepost 203 in Wright County, resulting in life-threatening injuries to both occupants.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. on January 17. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling westbound on I-94 when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and roll into the ditch. The crash triggered a significant emergency response involving the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Albertville Fire Department, Allina Ambulance, and Centra Care Ambulance.
Medics and rescue teams provided urgent care to both the driver and passenger, who suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. The driver, 20-year-old Abdirizck Hussein Ali of Saint Cloud, was transported to St. Cloud Hospital. The passenger, 25-year-old Abdiyere Aden Dualle, also of Saint Cloud, was not wearing a seat belt and was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.
Airbags in the vehicle were deployed, and the driver was reported to have been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The role of alcohol remains under investigation, with no confirmation yet on its involvement.
Authorities closed part of the westbound interstate during the emergency response and initial investigation. State Patrol continues to examine the circumstances that led to the rollover.
