Taney, MO (January 18, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident south of Hollister left one person injured, and both vehicles totaled on Saturday morning after one of the drivers reportedly failed to stop at a traffic signal on US-65, according to Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 9:40 a.m. on the southbound side of US-65, approximately 4.5 miles south of Hollister in Taney County. A 2004 Chevrolet 1500, driven by a 21-year-old man from Lead Hill, AR, was headed westbound when it entered the intersection against the signal. The vehicle moved directly into the path of a southbound 2009 Dodge Caravan, resulting in a significant collision.
Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene by Schrader’s Towing. Emergency services responded quickly, and the 51-year-old male driver of the Caravan, a resident of Harrison, AR, was transported by EMS to Cox South in Springfield for treatment of injuries. Authorities confirmed both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not reported injured. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the failure to yield, which appears to have directly contributed to the collision.
We extend our thoughts to the injured individual and hope for a smooth recovery ahead.
