Memphis, TN (January 19, 2026) – Emergency responders from Memphis Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene of a serious pedestrian-involved crash Monday morning after a man was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 240.
According to the Memphis Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:12 a.m. near the interchange with Elvis Presley Blvd. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics discovered that a male pedestrian had been hit by a car on the interstate. The man sustained critical injuries and was immediately transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
The driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement as they began their preliminary investigation. No additional details have been released about what led to the incident, and it is currently unclear why the pedestrian was on the roadway at the time of the crash.
