Mesa, AZ (January 19, 2026) – Emergency responders were dispatched on Friday evening to Loop 202 near E McKellips Rd after multiple witnesses reported seeing an injured motorcyclist walking along the freeway against traffic, according to initial reports.
The incident occurred around 7:42 p.m. on January 16. Witnesses told authorities that the motorcyclist had sustained visible injuries and was bleeding heavily while moving northbound along the freeway. Despite efforts from first responders, the injured individual had not been immediately located at the time of the dispatch.
Arizona Highway Patrol and Mesa emergency units began searching the area in an effort to locate and assist the motorcyclist. It remains unclear whether the injuries were the result of a collision or a separate incident involving the motorcycle.
